The Birmingham office of the American Heart Association has an exciting opportunity for a Heart Walk Director. This fundraising position will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and selling one of our key events, the Birmingham Heart Walk. Responsibilities Include: . Meeting aggressive fundraising goals . Securing corporate sponsorships . Creating corporate partnerships . Recruiting a volunteer Executive Leadership Committee . Recruiting and motivating Walk Team captains . Recruiting and coaching day of event volunteers . Securing and motivating individual donors . Cultivating and interacting with corporate leaders . Working with community boards and committees . Daily travel throughout the Birmingham market.

Required Experience

Qualified candidates will have a BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience. 2-5 years prior outside business-to-business sales and/or fundraising experience. Must be an effective communicator and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Must be proficient with Word and Excel. Preference to be given to those with prior professional fundraising experience and knowledge of the Birmingham business market.
